Full-stack .NET software engineer — I build applications end to end: WPF desktop front ends, the REST APIs behind them, the SQL Server they sit on, and the background services that keep them moving. Twenty-two years running production systems, from a PCI-compliant payments platform to safety-critical interlock controls. My PhD is in mechanical engineering, so the hard-problem half of the stack — simulation, numerical modeling, techno-economics — is home ground too.

About

I build software end to end. At Colectica that meant a complete .NET application — a WPF desktop client on an MVVM architecture, the REST API it talks to, the SQL Server schema underneath, and a separate server-based service processing work in parallel. One person, every layer, in production.

Before that, and still today, I own a real production estate: the enterprise Windows platform behind a tourism operation running since 2004 — ticketing and sales, card processing, registers, wired and wireless networking, and annual PCI DSS compliance. I built the campus infrastructure it runs on, and designed the interlock system that keeps two zipline riders from ever meeting on the same line.

The other half of my work is computational. My PhD and postdoctoral research were in the techno-economic analysis of geothermal power systems — first-principles thermodynamic models, a coupled Python/MATLAB simulator I helped build, and national-scale resource mapping over GIS data. That is scientific software: numerical methods, coupled models, and results that have to survive peer review.

And I teach — four years as a TA across undergraduate mechanical engineering, a master's course at ETH Zurich, advising master's and PhD students. The habit that connects all of it: take something complicated, understand it properly, then make it clear to someone else.

Survey-question workflow application

A full .NET application enforcing a controlled approval workflow for modifications to established survey questions. I built every layer: a WPF desktop client on an MVVM architecture, the REST API it communicates through, the SQL Server back end behind that API, and a third server-based service that processes workflow information in parallel.

Enterprise ticketing & payments platform

Owner of the Windows platform that runs the business since 2013 — point-of-sale and ticketing, card processing, registers, wired and wireless networking, and annual PCI DSS compliance. Integration work across payment, sales and register systems that cannot go down on a Saturday in July.

genGEO — techno-economic simulator

A coupled Python and MATLAB simulator estimating the electricity generation potential and economics of sedimentary basins. I refined the power-plant cost relationships and integrated them into the model — numerical simulation with published, peer-reviewed results.

Controls & safety

Zipline interlock system

Designed and developed an interlock preventing line collisions on the zipline — safety-critical control logic where the failure mode is measured in people, not downtime. Hardware, logic and installation.

US-wide geothermal potential mapping

A national-scale data pipeline: fundamental power-generation models extended across the country by integrating GIS reservoir permeability and thickness data, rendered as maps of power potential, then fed into the GCAM power-system simulator to assess dispatchability in a future grid.

CO2 Plume Geothermal power cycle

First-principles thermodynamic models of a CO2-based geothermal power cycle, implemented in EES and simulated across a wide range of geologic conditions. The basis of my PhD thesis and my first two peer-reviewed journal articles.
